Adil Hussain, a stage actor hailing from Goalpara in Assam, left home at the age of 27 to study acting at NSD. He has played a role in Ang Lee's 'Life of Pi' and recently shot for Mira Nair's 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'. Adil Hussain has been hailed as the ultimate Othello by critics at home and abroad for his portrayal of the moor in what must be the most complex production of the Bard’s dark tragedy — Roysten Abel’s Othello — In Black and White. Adil has been seen on the big screen before in bit roles in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Kaminey' and Sona Jain's 'For Real'. He also played the lead in Bengali film 'Iti Srikanto', opposite debutante Soha Ali Khan. His acting skills were seen by the West in Italian director Italo Spinelli's 'Gangor'. He has also shot for Aditya Bhattacharya's 'Bombay's Most Wanted' and 'English Vinglish' with Sridevi.
